Journal #2 – Cause/Effect Prewriting

Nowadays, people are living in a planet which is now “having a fever”. The global surface temperatures are likely to increase by 1.1 to 6.4 °C between 1990 and 2100. As the issue is becoming more and more serious, more and more scientists are learning about its causes and efforts. The biggest cause is due to more and more greenhouse gases are produced and put into the air. As the development of people’s standard of living, more and more people have their own cars. Even though having a car can make the life easier than before; it also bring a huge problem at the same time. Cars can only use 25% of their gases and the rest are putting into the air as CO2. Another big sourse of CO2 is from Power Plants. CO2 emissions stem from the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. Due to the rising of CO2, the earth is “having a fever”. As a result of the earth’s “disease”, people have to face lots of terrible problems. The high temperature can cause many heart diseases, influence the ski industry and brimg the extreme weather. Therefore, for our generations, les us try our best to make the earth cool by using energy-saving lights,  buy a clean and efficient car and plant more trees.

If you are looking for a guy who is helpful, quiet and friendly, the most coincidental person is me. I’m a Chinese guy named Chao Li and you can just call me Chao. I have been in the United States for half a year. Now, I’m studying at Central Michigan University. This fall semester is my first time to study with Americans. Therefore, I feel a little bit nervous, because it’s a challenge for me; however, I also feel excited at the same time, the reason is that it’s my first step to get my degree. Then, let me introduce some personal information about myself. During the weekends I have a lot of hobbies, for example soccer, swimming, making friends and even shopping. Now I’m living off campus in order to have my personal space and enjoy some Chinese food. If you want to try some Chinese food, just feel free to call me. My phone number is 989-854-1414. In brief, I think I’m a friendly guy; therefore, if you want to know me deeply, the only thing you need to do is make friends with me.
